Small Things Like These By Claire Keegan

Set at Christmas time in a small Irish town in 1985, Small Things Like These (a finalist for the Booker Prize) invokes images of snowy hills, twinkling lights, warm meals and cozy fires. Following an unsettling discovery, the book also forces the protagonist to confront what he believes about his community, and whether he has the ability, and will, to fix it.

Peter Weir’s Award-winning drama, Dead Poets Society — 'a hit at the box office which collected plenty of kudos at the time and has grown in stature over the years, spawning a spin-off stage play and novel, as well as being a common text on school curriculums and on lists of inspirational movies’ (The Guardian).
